Meet Our Doctors

  • Dr. Danny Wong is the owner and optometrist behind Lux Eye Exam Optometry. He earned his undergraduate degree in Physics from Cal Poly Pomona before completing his optometry training at the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University.

    With a background in physics and optics, Dr. Wong brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to eye care. He believes a great eye exam is more than simply updating a prescription — it is about understanding each patient’s lifestyle, visual needs, and long-term eye health.

    At Lux Eye Exam Optometry, Dr. Wong is passionate about providing care that feels thorough, honest, and easy to understand. His goal is for every patient to feel welcomed, listened to, and confident about their vision and eye health.

    Outside of the office, Dr. Wong enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports with his kids, and trying new things. He brings that same curiosity and love of learning into the way he continues to improve the patient experience at Lux Eye Exam Optometry.

  • Dr. Helen Gu is a licensed optometrist dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized eye care to every patient. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry and completed her undergraduate studies at UCR.

    Known for her calm and attentive presence, Dr. Gu takes the time to truly listen to each patient’s concerns and ensures they feel heard, valued, and confident in their care. She strives to deliver thorough, high-quality eye exams while building long-term relationships rooted in trust.

    Outside the office, Dr. Gu enjoys spending time with her cats, traveling and baking/ cooking.

  • Dr. Espinoza earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from San Diego State University before receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree from Marshall B. Ketchum University – Southern California College of Optometry. He has been providing comprehensive eye care since 2022.

    He chose optometry because it combines healthcare, science, and the opportunity to improve people’s lives through better vision. One of his favorite parts of practicing optometry is getting to know each patient beyond their eyes—learning about their careers, hobbies, goals, and life experiences. He believes these conversations help him provide more personalized, meaningful care.

    Dr. Espinoza enjoys providing comprehensive eye examinations and is committed to helping patients maintain healthy eyes while finding the best vision solutions for their individual lifestyles and visual needs.

    Outside of the office, Dr. Espinoza enjoys staying active through strength training, sprinting, jump training, and Muay Thai as he works toward returning to peak athletic shape. He is also an avid Formula 1 fan and enjoys a wide variety of hobbies, including PC gaming, vinyl record collecting, espresso and pour-over coffee, photography, surfing, gardening, and growing fruit trees. He enjoys continually learning new skills and exploring new interests.

    Dr. Espinoza’s goal is to help every patient achieve the best possible vision for their lifestyle and daily activities. He believes in providing thorough eye examinations, taking the time to educate patients about their eye health, and ensuring each person leaves feeling confident in both their vision and the care they received.
